FEMINIZAÇÃO OROFACIAL DE MULHERES TRANSGÊNERAS: Como a odontologia pode contribuir para a inclusão social?

Resumo

A incongruência de gênero é uma condição na qual o indivíduo sofre grande estresse emocional e psicológico devido à falta de compatibilidade entre o gênero no qual se identifica e as características físicas de nascimento. O Brasil tem altos índices de violência contra pessoas transgêneras, justificando a necessidade de mulheres e homens trans passarem socialmente como pessoas cis. Existem características anatômicas faciais que diferem os dois sexos biológicos, incluindo bossa supraorbital, posição da sobrancelha, linha do cabelo, formato do nariz, projeção malar, ângulo da mandíbula, projeção mentual, sorriso e lábios. Para alterar essas características, podem ser utilizados procedimentos cirúrgicos invasivos e tratamentos minimamente invasivos. Este trabalho é uma revisão de literatura que apresenta os procedimentos de feminização orofacial baseado no dimorfismo sexual da face. A pesquisa bibliográfica foi realizada nas plataformas digitais: Pubmed, Scielo, Sciencedirect, Researchgate e Periódicos CAPES, os descritores “feminization”, “minimally invasive”, “smile”, “transgender” e “sexual dimorphism”. 61 artigos foram condizentes com a proposta. A harmonização orofacial é uma especialidade odontológica desde 2018 e vem ganhando grande relevância entre as práticas odontológicas. A feminização orofacial é um ramo dessa especialidade voltada a atender mulheres transgêneras, ou seja, mulheres que nasceram no sexo masculino, mas que se identificam com o gênero feminino. A feminização orofacial, embora não seja amplamente difundida entre os profissionais da odontologia, oferece oportunidades para cirurgiões dentistas realizarem procedimentos estéticos faciais em mulheres transgêneras, tanto cirúrgicos quanto minimamente invasivos, dando a estas pessoas qualidade de vida ao permitir que sejam vistas como se identificam.
